Gun Control
Carolyn Maloney has a long history of fighting for gun control and against the threat of gun violence. In 1999 she voted against decreasing the waiting period for gun purchasers from 3 days to 1. In 2003 and 2005, she voted against bills that would have prohibited liability lawsuits from being brought against gun manufacturers and dealers based on the criminal misuse of firearms, keeping them accountable for their products
Maloney cut crime with tougher enforcement, added more than 100,000 new community police officers to the streets of New York, enacted a ban on assault weapons, and pushed through the Brady law which has kept guns out of the hands felons, fugitives and stalkers.
Carolyn consistently crafts legislation and votes with her conscience and her unwavering belief that gun violence is deplorable and avoidable.
