Maloney: Romney Vote A Vote Against Women's Rights

Rep. Carolyn Maloney says a vote for Mitt Romney is a vote against women's rights.

Maloney joined local Democrats and pro-choice activists Tuesday to release a report titled “Top Ten Ways Romney and Ryan Are Bad for American Women.” Among the claims, the report says the Republican ticket would vote against fair pay, the right to choose and family planning.

Maloney also says millions of women will lose their health insurance if Romney repeals President Barack Obama's health care plan.

"It would roll us back," she said. "They would have women walk the plank and go backwards on rights we have thought were achieved years ago."

"The GOP platform is clear," said Andrea Miller, the president of NARAL Pro-Choice New York. "It is staunchly anti-choice. It is anti-women's health. It is anti-women."

Republicans approved a platform Tuesday that would, among other things, call for a ban all abortions and turn Medicare into a voucher-like program.
