A former rival is backing Rep. Carolyn Maloney’s re-election bid.

Reshma Saujani, who got trounced by Maloney in a 2010 Democratic primary, announced Tuesday that she’s backing the veteran Manhattan congresswoman’s re-election.

“Carolyn Maloney is a tenacious fighter for New York and I am proud to support her re-election,” Saujani said. “In the era of #TimesUp, she is a proven champion of women and girls.”

Saujani, a lawyer and political activist who also ran for public advocate in 2013, founded Girls Who Code to close the gender gap in the tech industry.

Maloney, 72, first elected in 1992, is facing a primary challenge from upstart hotel magnate Suraj Patel.

Patel, 34, is running as a new generation Democrat seeking reform. He announced last month that he raised over $500,000 while refusing to take money from political action committees.
