New York, NY - Today, the Grand Marshal of the 2022 Israel Day Parade Harley Lippman endorsed Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney for re-election.
“I am proud to endorse Carolyn Maloney for Congress in the 12th district. She has been unwavering in her support for Israel, and a strong ally in the fight against antisemitism. Maloney authored and passed the Never Again Holocaust Education Act so that more American children will be taught about the Nazis and their efforts to annihilate the Jewish people. She fought so certain Holocaust survivors would finally be paid reparations they were long denied. Recognizing that the Iran Nuclear Deal would not keep Iran from building a nuclear weapon, she called for a longer ban, stronger enforcement mechanisms and a stricter inspection regime, but once the deal was signed, she opposed pulling out, fearing that Iran would swiftly start enriching uranium and developing a weapon. Maloney has consistently worked to increase federal funding for the security grants that protect Jewish institutions and organizations, and she has been a strong opponent of BDS. She supports human rights and respects the dignity of all people, and I believe she is the right choice for our community and I am delighted to stand with her,” said Harley Lippmann, Grand Marshal of 2022 Israel Day Parade, former President of the America-Israel Friendship League, former Chair of the Board of Trustees of the American Jewish Congress.
“I am deeply grateful for Harley’s support,” said Rep. Maloney. “His work to strengthen the American-Israeli friendship, combat anti-Semitism, and further diplomatic ties between Israel and other nations is admirable, and I am honored to have his endorsement.”
