I On Politics: MALONEY STATEMENT ON 9/11 HEALTH BILL ANNIVERSARY
Congress Member Carolyn B. Maloney, sponsor of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Reauthorization Act, released the following statement marking the third anniversary of the bill’s signing. The Congress member is also the sponsor of the Never Forget the Heroes Act.
Congress Member Maloney said, “Three years ago today, we came together to make sure that the World Trade Center Health Program would always be available to 9/11 first responders and survivors. Now, we need pass the Never Forget the Heroes Act to fully fund the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund. Not a single one of these heroes should ever worry about getting the care and support they need and deserve.
“I will continue to work with my colleagues, Reps. Jerrold Nadler and Peter King, and US Senators Kirsten Gillibrand, Cory Gardner, and Charles Schumer to make sure we pass the Never Forget the Heroes Act. We are continuing to build bipartisan support in both chambers and I am confident that we can make this bill law in the next Congress.”
