Team Maloney flexed their grassroots organizing power, collecting more than 10x the required amount of verified signatures for ballot access.
NEW YORK, NY - This week, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney and her campaign filed approximately 13,478 signatures with the NYS Board of Elections, which is over ten times the required amount of verified signatures for ballot access and all but ensures her qualification for the ballot in NY’s 12th Congressional District. Team Maloney’s volunteers and supporters petitioned in all corners of the new 12th District, demonstrating their grassroots organizing power and the community’s strong support for Maloney.
“I am so proud to qualify for the ballot in NY’s 12th Congressional District, and I am deeply grateful for the time and dedication of every single volunteer who helped us collect signatures. Petitioning gives us all an opportunity to go out into the community and connect with voters about the issues that matter to them. It is politics at its most personal when you are asking a voter to sign your petition. And I took every opportunity I could this month to petition with our volunteers, even on the frequent cold, rainy (and occasionally snowy!) days. The positive reception we received in all parts of the new NY-12th District was energizing and humbling. I can’t wait to get back on the campaign trail this month. Onward!” — Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney
Team Maloney would also like to give a special shout out to all of the Democratic clubs, campaigns and groups in NY-12 who truly went above and beyond this year: Chelsea Reform Democratic Club; Downtown Independent Democrats; Democratic Club of El Barrio/East Harlem; East River Democratic Club; Eleanor Roosevelt Democratic Club; Four Freedoms Democratic Club; Gramercy Stuyvesant Independent Democrats; Hell’s Kitchen Democratic Club; Lexington Democratic Club; Queens Democratic Party; Samuel J. Tilden Democratic Club; United Democratic Organization; Village Independent Democrats; Village Reform Democratic Club; West Side Democrats; 504 Democrats.
